Xiaomi has finally launched its first flagship smartphone for the year 2018 called the Mi Mix 2S. The latest smartphone in Xiaomi’s popular Mi Mix series of smartphones, Mi Mix 2S is priced at RMB 3299 around ₹34,198 for the 6GB RAM/64GB variant and RMB 3,499 around ₹36,200 for the 6GB RAM/128GB variant. At last 8GB/256GB is priced at RMB 3999 around ₹41,100. It is available in ceramic white and black color variants. The Xiaomi wireless charger is priced at RMB 99 around ₹1025. We don’t know when and if Xiaomi will launch the smartphone in India.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is powered by the latest 2.8 GHz Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with Adreno 630 GPU, 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The Millett MIX 2S (Xiaomi) sports a Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio Full Screen 2.0 display and houses a 3,400 mAh battery. It comes with the same ceramic unibody design with 7,000 series aluminum frame. It scored 277,178 on Antutu on benchmarks

The Xiaomi Mi 2 sports a vertical Dual Camera Setup at the back and a rear placed fingerprint scanner in the middle. The front-facing camera is placed at the same location that is at the bottom right and not at the leaked top right corner. Xiaomi claims that the screen to body ratio is better on Mi Mix 2S than Mi Mix 2.
The smartphone comes with a 12-megapixel wide angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens at the back same as on iPhone. The dual camera setup helps in the bokeh effect or as popularly known as the portrait mode. The camera comes with dual pixel auto-focus and OIS (optical image stabilization). The camera scored 101 on DxOMark as compared to 94 on Mi Note 3.

Xiaomi claims that the new dual camera setup is the biggest upgrade from the Mi Mix 2 to Mi Mix 2S and compared it a lot with the iPhone X. The Mi Mix 2S comes with QI wireless charging and AI features like better background blur just like on Google Pixel 2 smartphone and background blur with the front camera too.
The AI also helps in scene detection for better photo according to the outside conditions. The camera will also translate images in real time like an English menu to Chinese or Dollars to Rupees conversion. It also comes with the popular face unlock feature via the front-facing camera along with a voice unlock feature using Xiaomi voice assistant.
The Xiaomi voice assistant is just like the Google Assistant which can perform all most all functions just with voice and they even showed a comparison with Siri. The smartphone runs on Android Oreo-based MIUI 9 and comes with NFC support for payments. Xiaomi smartphone also supports Gooogle AR core for AR features on the device but it will come as an update in a month. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for more tech updates.
