Are you eager to use this Beta version? Yes, you can on a local environment. All you need is the WordPress beta tester plugin. As per the announcements, We got to know that the official release of the beta version gonna get to users on May 12. This means that we got to get some awesome features. But there’s much not to think that those features on the beta version will get to the official release. As we all know that most developers test their app’s features on a beta release. Below is about some features to be discussed on this release.

Improved Visual Editor Experience

We all know that the current version of WordPress comes with a simple Text Editor which is likely not supposed to get with the beginners. As it needs to be coded in HTML. Now we got few changes in the Text Editor with the new update. WordPress’s “text editor” now supports both Visual and Text Editor which is similar in appearance to the below image. This will allow beginner users to easily add links, create lists, or make text bold or italic without writing any HTML code.

New Image and Video Widget’s

Now it gets easier to upload an image to a sidebar. Previously a user needs to write some HTML code to a text editor and make an image appeared on the sidebar. But it got easier with WordPress 4.8. All you need is to choose the Image Tab and drop it to the sidebar widgets section. There you can easily upload and set an image with a title too!

Similarly, in the same way, you need to choose the video tab and have to upload or select to insert video from the URL. Isn’t it awesome!

WordPress News and Events Dashboard Widget

So the default WordPress news will get replaced with “WordPress News and Event”. The main features are that with the wordpress updates this widget will even show the wordpress events nearby your location. As the previous widget was only set to show wordpress news.

If your site has multiple users it gonna automatically trace all the wordpress events nearby them with the help of their computers ip adddress.
