The gift-giving (and receiving) season is almost upon us. Your friends and family no doubt know about your interest in biking in general and e-biking specifically, but what’s a cyclist to do if you don’t want to bet the house on this trend?

Much like cars, e-bikes are a thing you can spend as much or as little money as you want.

There is a price range for every budget.

What I am bringing to you today is a list of the best e-bikes under $1000 that will fit anyone’s budget!

Sondors E-Bikes…. Pretty Much Anything

Price: $499-$899

Sondors is a name that you will recognize from all over the Internet.

By means of Kickstarter, Indiegogo and other crowdfunding sites, Sondors made a name for themselves by becoming one of the first truly affordable e-bikes made by a North American manufacturer.

The available features and ranges vary from model to model, but the great thing about Sonders e-bikes is you can pick almost any model from their line-up and remain under $1000 and that, if nothing else is amazing!

It’s not even too late to be a part of their dream if you want to be an investor in their company! When it comes to the best e-bikes under $1000, Sonders should definitely be at the top of your list.

NAKTO/SPARK 26” City Electric Bicycle

Price: $529

The Nakto Spark 26′ electric is a little different than a lot of other e-bikes under $1000 on this list.

Rather than using a mountain bike frame, this one is more of a smooth riding cruiser. The 250-watt motor claims a top speed of 25 mpg with a Shimano 6-Speed derailleur.

The front forks are sprung to help absorb some of what the road may throw at you. Also, this e-bike has front and rear fenders to protect you from the road, and a basket to carry your stuff.

This e-bike is quite a bit heavier than most of the other bikes on the list, weighing in at 80 lbs. As with cars, a heavier bike should make for a smoother riding experience.

That comfort comes at a price though. With pedal assist the range is only 17-23 miles. Combined with everything else this e-bike offers, it should be perfect for the short distance commuter or campus hopper.

Ancheer Electric Mountain Bike

Price: $579

If you have just begun your search for the best e-bike under $1000, you should definitely check out Ancheer.

The Ancheer Electric Mountain E-bike is one of the first to pop up on any Google search for low priced e-bikes. I have seen bikes that cost several times more that do not offer a comparable number of options as this one!

It’s a smooth ride and built by a trusted company. You won’t regret this one.

Genesis i4 Mountaineer E-Bike 

Price: $799

The best part is that it is currently on sale, so get off your keister, (Or on it, I am writing about bikes so that point of grammar gets confusing sometimes.) and take one out for a test ride!

X-Treme Trail Maker

Price: $849

The X-Treme Trail maker is another e-bike under $1000 that, despite the name coming straight from the 90’s (when everything was extreme!), is legitimately extreme in a few ways.

The e-bike features a 300watt brushless hub motor pushing the bike and its Shimano Tourney 7-speed gearing to a top unassisted speed of 20 mph via either pedal assist or throttle.

The 24v Lithium Battery comes with a smart charger. Unlike other chargers, this one can give out the exact amount needed, rather than an all or nothing type charger that are common in this price range.

The 100% aluminum frame means you have a lightweight, but very strong bike weighing in at 51 lbs. with a maximum rider weight of 350lbs.

X-Treme Malibu Beach Cruiser 

Price: $949

If you’re a long time reader of this site, you may remember the name X-Scooters.

They had a couple of spots on our lists in years past, and they are back again this year with the X-treme Malibu Beach Cruiser.

By God if pink isn’t one of the available colors!

Barbie would feel right at home zipping down the boardwalk on this hand-welded aluminum frame, and I would not expect anything less from an e-bike calling itself the Malibu!

X-Scooters states that the 7-speed Malibu will travel up to 20 miles on a single charge and stopping should be easy with front and back disc brakes. Now that’s an e-bike under $1000 worth every penny!

Populo Sport Electric Bicycle V3 

Price: $999

Sliding right in under out limit for this article is the Urban Populo V3. It’s a road bike that can fit pretty much any rider. Frame sizes are available from 49-58cm.

This e-bike is one of the lightest e-bike that I’ve come across in quite some time, weighing 36 lbs.

It featuresa 250 watt motor that’s good for up to 30 miles of assisted riding.

Even without the electric assist, this would be a pretty impressive example of a quality road bike that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg!

If you really like this one, but think that it is too close to a grand for your budget, Populo also offers the V1 model for only $799 while supplies last.
