Difference between Reliance Jio 'Happy New Year' offer vs 'Welcome' offer.

On 1st december 2016 Mr.Mukesh Ambani came up with an announcement of extension of jio services.Yes, you read it right.
Jio 'Happy New Year' Offer is valid from 31st December 2016 to 31st March 2017.Those users buying jio sim card after 3rd Jan 2017 are directly eligible for new services.

Jio earlier this month had marked a record 50 million users connecting to jio network.While addressing staff during announcement he agreed that there were issues of call drop and speed throttling due to competition.He said that there 8% towers were congested while 92% of towers were working very well.
Mukesh Ambani also stated that the existing jio users will be migrated to the new offer automatically. 
Jio first came up with the Preview offer with their partner LYF mobile where there was no limit of per data usage.Then jio services were made available for other brands with the Welcome offer and now comes the Happy New Year offer.
Jio sim can be activated within 5 mins using eKYC and now you can get home delivery of your sim card.
Jio has accumulated a huge user base and now we will have to wait and watch how it manages all the stuff after 31st March 2017.

Similarities between Welcome offer and happy new year offer.

  • Complete access to the Jio Apps(Jio music,Jio Money,Jio TV,Jio voice,etc.)
  • Free local& std calls will be there even after 31st March 2017 without paying anything extra.
  • There won't be any charge on roaming.
  • Free local and national sms can be sent.
  • Free data is also available under this offer.

Differences between these offers.

  • FUP-This new offer will allow you to use only 1 GB data per day against the 4 GB per day data under previous scheme.
  • FUP applicable-Back then with previous offer you didn't had option to increase the speed and had to surf at a speed of 128 kbps but with this offer you will be charged 4p/10kb post 1 GBdata usage.
  • Recharge Packs available-The new scheme allows you to recharge your sim with two different recharge packs made available by Jio.
  • Recharge packs- Two packs of Rs 51 and Rs 301 are made available.Rs 51 plan will give 1 GB 4G data for 24 hours and Rs 301 plan will provide 6 GB 4G data for 28 days.
