ASUS has showcased their latest addition to the ROG Strix series of gaming monitors. The new 49″ ultrawide Asus Rog Strix XG49VQ boasts the 3840×1080 32:9 screen resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync 2, and the VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified HDR10 support. Previously, ASUS announced a similar 49″ ultrawide display dubbed as the ASUS VG49V with mostly identical specs except for the FreeSync 2 and HDR. It’s unclear whether ASUS will release both monitors or if the new XG49VQ is the upgraded model of the VG49V.
