Mi MIX 2, the company is top end bezel-less display Phone of 2017, has received a permanent price cut in India. The headset is now available to buy at Rs. 32,999 via offline retailers. We can expect Xiaomi company to announce the price cut officially soon, and see the new price on Flipkart and Mi.com in the near future as well.
The Mi MIX 2 was launched in India back in Oct and was made available in its first sale the same month. The phone was launched in a single variant in India, featuring 6/8GB of RAM and 64/128/56GB of inbuilt storage, priced at Rs. 35,999. The smartphone new price represents a price cut of Rs. 3,000, making it a much more attractive option compared to the OnePlus 5T and Nokia 8 smartphone, its primary competitors at that price point.
The dual-SIM Mi MIX 2 runs MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 (Nougat). It sports a 5.99-inch full-HD+, IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen (1080 pixels by 2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and is powered by an Octa-core (4×2.45 GHz Kryo & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo) Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC that is coupled with 6GB of RAM. The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) phone sports a 12 MP Sony IMX386 rear camera sensor with 1.25-micron pixels, 4-axis optical image stabilization, 5-piece lens, a f/2.0 aperture, as well as a facial recognition feature. On the front, it bears a 5-megapixel front camera, also with the facial recognition function that can be used to unlock the phone.

As for storage, the Mi MIX 2 variant launched in India bears 128GB of internal storage that is not expandable. The device connectivity options on the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 phone include 4G, VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11c, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board include the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, and ultrasonic proximity sensor. The phone runs on a Non-removable Li-Ion Non-removable Li-Ion 3400 mAh battery measures 151.8×75.5×7.7mm and weigh 185 grams.
The company says the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 displays has a pixel density of 403ppi and is complete with DCI-P3 color gamut support. The phone has minimal bezels on three sides, with only a ‘bottom chin’ that sports the front camera and other sensors.
With no top bezel to house the earpiece, the company has decided to use a ‘hidden sound-guided speaker’ that resonates sound through the display and frame. The Mi MIX 2 bears a ceramic body with a 7-Series aluminum frame and a 18K gold plated camera ring on the rear panel.
