Coolpad has brought the 32 GB internal Storage Variant of the Coolpad Note 5 Lite phone to India. To recall, the Note 5 Lite was Launched in a 16 GB internal storage variant in March at Rs. 8,199. Now the 32 GB variant has been priced at Rs. 8,199 (MRP Rs. 9,999), while the original is priced at Rs. 7,499 (MRP Rs. 8,999).

The Note 5 Lite is a Dual-SIM mobile phone that runs CoolUI 8.0 Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). The smartphone sports a 5.0 inches, 68.9 cm2 (~65.6% screen-to-body ratio) IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors (720 pixels by 1280 pixels) display, and 2.5D Curved glass display protection.

The Coolpad Note 5 Lite is powered by a Quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53, Mediatek MT6735CP, a Mali-T720MP2 processor with 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone sports a 13 MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, and an 8 MP front camera with LED flash. It bears a fingerprint sensor on the back panel.

The Coolpad Note 5 Lite has 16/32 GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card and also features USB OTG support. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE (LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 40(2300)), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, Fingerprint (rear-mounted), proximity sensor. It is powered by a 2500mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery that as per Coolpad smartphone is rated to deliver up to 200 hours of standby time. The device weighs 148 grams and measures 145.3×72.3×8.7mm.

We reviewed the Coolpad Note 5 Lite phone and found it to be a strong contender compared to other budget phones in the category. It offers good build quality, 3 GB of RAM, and a fingerprint scanner. The only real chink in its armor is the outdated MediaTek SoC that runs the show.
