Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 bezel-less display mobile phone is set to launch in India today. On Monday, just ahead of the smartphone’s launch event in New Delhi, Flipkart revealed that the Mi MIX 2 will be exclusively available on its platform in India. The launch event kicks off at 11:30 am IST and as always. To recall, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 was launched in China last month alongside the Xiaomi Mi Note 3. So far, there’s no indication that the latter smartphone will make its way to India as well. Notably, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 India launch will be the first premium phone the Chinese firm has brought to India since the Mi 5 back in March last year.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 price in India
The Mi MIX 2 was unveiled in three RAM and storage variants – 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage at CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 32,300), 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage at CNY 3,599 (roughly Rs. 35,300), and 6GB RAM/ 256GB storage at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 39,200). The Xiaomi company had also unveiled the Mi MIX 2 Special Edition 8GB of RAM, 128GB storage, and a full ceramic body, at CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 46,000). However, this last model is unlikely to be launched in India, at least on Tuesday – as it has yet to go on sale in China, where it will be made available to buy in Nov. Price in India of Mi MIX 2 is likely to be similar to what we saw in China.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 features
As for the features, the Mi MIX 2’s biggest highlight is, of course, its bezel-less display. It sports a 5.99-inch full-HD (1080 pixels by 2160 pixels), LCD display with a pixel density of 403ppi and support for DCI-P3 color gamut. There is no ‘upper lip’ above the display, and the front camera has been relegated to the ‘bottom lip’, a design decision that Xiaomi had used with the last Mi MIX as well. The headset is lighter, smaller, and thinner than its predecessor. Featuring a ceramic body, the phone has a frame built out of 7-Series aluminum apart from a 18K gold plated camera ring. Another major highlight is ‘hidden sound-guided speaker’ that resonates sound through the display and frame, completely hiding the speaker itself. Finally, the Xiaomi company is also touting facial recognition technology for unlocking the mobile phone.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 specifications
Apart from the display, which we have already detailed, the regular edition of the Mi MIX 2 specs include dual-SIM support Nano-SIM, a Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM, dual rear camera setup (two 12 MP sensors, one with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens and the other with an f/2.6 telephoto lens, offering 4-axis OIS), a 16 MP front camera with 2-micron pixels, up to 128GB of inbuilt storage that isn’t expandable via microSD card, and a 3500mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11c, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, an infrared sensor, and proximity sensor. It measures 152.6×73.95×7.6mm and weighs 163 grams.
