Tinder Select :revealed, Tinder operates a members-only version

Sources have revealed that Tinder operates a members-only version of the platform, which goes by the name Tinder Select.

The particular platform is meant to serve only the elite users of the app, including CEOs, supermodels, musicians, actors and other hyperactive and upwardly members of the society.

“It is for celebrities and people who do really well on Tinder,” a source revealed.

It appears as if Tinder has invited people to the platform. The invited members are in turn allowed to ‘nominate’ other potential members.

However, the members who are chosen are not authorized to appoint anyone else. This is designed to prevent the members-only layer of the app from spreading uncontrollably.

It is not yet clear how Tinder decides who gets invited and who does not, but the common thread among those on the Select app is that they are attractive, accessible and high-profile.

One factor that could be utilized by Tinder when selecting members could be the Tinder Elo Score. It is an algorithm rating system across all Tinder users based on thousands and thousands of signals.

Is it better than the original

Judging by the photos of Tinder Select obtained by sleuths, it looks much better than the regular Tinder regarding design.

Private Tinder features a gradient navy blue ‘S’ at the top, where the Tinder flame is usually found, and other blue accenting instead of the usual orange.

Users who have access to the Tinder Select layer of the app can toggle on private Tinder from the top bar.

How long has private Tinder has been in operation

Private Tinder has been in operation for at least six months. The time it has remained secretive could be an indication that Tinder does not plan to announce the service anytime soon, or at all.

Announcing the service would likely upset the application’s huge user base. It could also ‘dilute’ the Tinder Select pool of users.

This is not the first time that a dating app has tried to pamper its top users. It is also not the first time that a dating app has applied the invite-only concept.

Raya maintaining it’s low-key persona

Raya has managed to stay under the radar for more than two years, only allowing users with hordes of Instagram followers, ‘cool’ or creative jobs, and references from within the Raya community to join.

Bumble is working on plans to relaunch its ViBee ‘verified’ tier from last year. The level will reward users who impact positively to the Bumble ecosystem by swiping thoughtfully and being highly responsive.

The League is an invitation-only dating app. It used LinkedIn as its backbone for data on education and profession, in a bid to decide who would have the honor of getting access to the platform.

Reason for Private Tinder

It should be noted that Tinder does not appear to be using the Tinder Select platform as a way to stir hype.

Private Tinder appears as an effort to build a truly stealthy layer for the most attractive and eligible 1 per cent.

Keeping the platform secret fuels the feeling of exclusivity and superiority for those invited. It also serves to keep the masses who have not been asked to join in relative ignorance.
