Apologies...

First, I have to apologize. I have been trying to find more convenient ways to add pictures and diagrams to my blogs. The school district where I work is considering abandoning Microsoft Office for Google Docs. So, I’ve tried to start using their tools more often. I discovered that I could write, copy, and paste from Google Docs to Blogger. Unfortunately, I was unaware that for many of my readers, the diagrams were not appearing on the blog- even though they were clearly visible whenever I logged in at work or school. So, I had to revisit the old blogs all the way back to January saving the diagrams to my computer, and then uploading them so that they would all be visible. I learned something today about blogger. My apologies. I am certain that the images I used would have enhanced the reading experience tremendously for some of the blogs I place.

Our middle-schoolers in our district are learning to use Google Docs to create collaborative documents. This year I have required my students to have sketchbooks and notebooks, so that they would basically be doing review activities and note activities so that in the end they would end-up creating their own math Book. Thankfully, I was able to get away with not having a textbook in geometry this year. I like not having the book. We may be without books for a few more years, which pleases me. I think I will quite before they make me go back to a textbook again. We'll my recent thought after listening to my daughter talk about using Google Docs at her middle school is that maybe I should scrap my notebooks and have my student write their own geometry books online. Just a thought.
