How Much Longer for Klinsmann?

The United States men's national team has seen an interesting change during the era of Jürgen Klinsmann. He has undoubtedly made a name for himself in the eyes of many fans, whether it be positive or negative, and constantly continues to raise eyebrows. Now, however, his job is becoming harder and harder to hold onto as losses in big games keep piling on.

Klinsmann's promising beginning started at the last World Cup, where the United States had an impressive tournament, managing to escape the "group of death" and move on past the group stages.  However, it also marked the beginning of controversy over the newly hired coach, who left American soccer legend, Landon Donovan, off the roster.

Since then, he has seen some good performances but has mostly been under pressure due to big losses, and a lack of attention towards players doing well during the MLS  season.

The Gold Cup marked a massive downfall for Klinsmann as the United States fell to underdogs Jamaica.   It also saw rivals Mexico win the championship and have since then continued their good form.

Now, with the arrival of the Copa America Centenario, the United States lost in the first game of the tournament to Colombia.  The fans of the United States are beginning to lose patience, and a lackluster performance in this tournament will most likely spell the end for Klinsmann.

He has said that he enjoys the pressure, as it keeps him going and makes him try his best to make the team great, but his attempts to bolster the boys in white have only been met with big losses at wrong times.  He needs to have a good tournament, because if the United States fails early on, it will be the beginning of the end for Klinsmann and his era.
