Premier League Player News

During the summer period, you will have to be aware of a variety of Premier League
player news. These stories include the arrivals of Christian Eriksen to Manchester
United and Hassane Kamara to Udinese. You will also learn about Patrick van Aanholt,
who is believed to have been arrested for allegedly rape and linked with a move to
Watford.

Steven Gerrard returns to the Premier League

Despite the fact that he left the Anfield club in 2015, former Liverpool player Steven
Gerrard is considering a return. He has been linked with various roles in the
management arena, and has recently been hired by Aston Villa.

Gerrard is a fan of Liverpool and he admits he is missing the Premier League. He has
been in touch with the club’s management to discuss his future.

Gerrard has been in talks with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. He will meet the
German head coach in person next week. He has also been in touch with the club’s
chairman Tom Werner.

Patrick van Aanholt linked with a move to Watford

Despite having a successful career at Crystal Palace, Patrick van Aanholt is reportedly
interested in a move to Watford. Van Aanholt is a left-back with excellent attacking
potential, and the fact that he is linked with Watford is no surprise.

Crystal Palace had a big offer for Van Aanholt, but the offer has been made stronger
recently, with a move believed to be worth PS12m, depending on how he performs. It’s
a gamble for Watford, but if they’re able to make it work, then they could be well on
their way to a return to the Premier League.

Christian Eriksen joins Manchester United

Earlier this summer, Christian Eriksen was heavily linked with a move to Manchester
United. He has since signed a three-year contract with the Red Devils, with the Danish
midfielder expected to become a key member of the midfield.

The deal is reportedly worth around EUR20 million. It has been agreed that Christian
Eriksen will join the Red Devils on a free transfer after his contract with Brentford
expires in June.

Mohamed Salah and Michail Antonio are in the 40%+club

During the International break, there were some Premier League players who were
named in international squads. Some of these players are staying at their clubs during
the break while others are making the long trip overseas.
Some of these players are making the trip to Europe, while others are heading to
South America. Some of the players who are heading to Europe include David Meyler,
Alex Iwobi and Bruno Guimaraes.

Nick Pope will challenge Martin Dubravka for the #1 shirt

Having been relegated from the Premier League last season, Burnley have now signed
goalkeeper Nick Pope. Pope has been in the goalkeeping fraternity for years betting
spread, but is looking for a new challenge.

Pope is no stranger to the Premier League, having made 141 appearances for Burnley
since joining in 2009. He has also been in the England set-up for the last four
seasons, including a stint as a substitute in the last edition of the World Cup.

AFC Bournemouth make their first signing of the summer

Despite enjoying a strong start to the season, AFC Bournemouth are likely to finish in
the bottom half of the table in the Premier League. They have failed to make any major
signings in the transfer window so far, but have a good amount of players in their
squad. They are still working to strengthen their squad further. They should aim for
survival, but will need to replace players who have moved back home.

Hassane Kamara sells to Udinese

During the recent relegation play-offs, Watford reportedly slashed PS60m out of their
bank account in the process. They may have made a few moves, but this is not the
time to count them out. After all, they are in the EFL Championship, and they may not
be the most competitive team in the division. They could use this money to strengthen
their squad with the loan of Kortney Hause and Ismaila Sarr, or both.

Christian Eriksen’s World Cup squad commitments

Whether Christian Eriksen will be in Denmark’s 2022 World Cup squad remains to be
seen. But the fact that he’s back playing for Denmark is a feel-good story.

Eriksen had a cardiac arrest during the Euros, and spent eight months out of the
game. He returned to international duty with Denmark in March, and scored in their
first match. He also had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator fitted.

Christian Eriksen has 117 caps for Denmark, and scored 39 goals. He also played for
Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. In his first public interview, he highlighted
the World Cup as his main target.

Patrick van Aanholt arrested on suspicion of rape

Earlier this week, Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt was arrested on
suspicion of a rape. The 29-year-old’s name isn’t known for legal reasons but he’s in
the same boat as other high-profile rape victims such as Yves Bissouma, Mason
Greenwood and Benjamin Mendy. The arrest comes after the Metropolitan Police
received a report of a rape in June.

The 29-year-old was questioned on Tuesday afternoon but is due to return to training
on Monday. His move comes as Palace remain short on experience at the back. There are four defenders out on loan at the moment, and it seems as though they are not going to be adding any more to the mix.
