Now, slander names aren’t exactly unusual in Football Twitter either. Kylian Mbappe has been known as Mpaypal for awhile now. Even Leo Messi, called by his haters as ‘Pessi’ for his penalty goals, isn’t spared of slander names.

Some rival fans seem to be loving the name ‘Szpongebob’. It has given them new material to mock the Hungarian midfielder and try to demean him every time he makes the slightest error.

The slander name was seemingly created after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea. But its relevance has mellowed down ever since. The reason behind that is Szoboszlai’s form after that game.
