With the only game remaining of Gameweek 2 remaining being Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal, we know some of you are just itching to make your free transfer of the week. While it may be too early to play a wildcard or to make someone your triple captain at the start of the season, a few calculated decisions would be all you need to get that decisive edge against your competitors in a league or even overall in the FPL standings.

Though, realistically, you should be waiting until the fixtures of the week fully conclude.

However, if you’re looking to hit that buy button, we’ve got you covered. Here are some transfers you should look into going into Gameweek 3.

Sells 

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City – £10.3m) – This almost hurts to write but KDB is expected to be out of action till at least 16 December 2023. The Belgian international’s recurring hamstring injury even forced him out of playing a full 90 minutes in the Champions League final against Inter Milan.

De Bruyne’s hamstring issues are clearly way more serious than anyone anticipated and the midfielder will require a few months at the minimum to heal.

Some might be afraid to sell him and buy-back after a return to form and subsequent price hike but don’t fret. The moment that the Man City playmaker returns, most FPL blogs and we will definitely let you know it’s a good time to buy. 

Mykhaylo Mudryk (Chelsea – £6.4m) – Much was expected of the 22-year-old Ukrainian midfielder when he was brought in to Chelsea for a whopping £89m from Shakhtar Donetsk, however, the results haven’t followed (as yet).

With a lack of game time against Liverpool and West Ham in these first few gameweeks, Mudryk is struggling to break into the first team and play regular football for the Blues.

While we hope that the young winger does eventually flourish in his role at Stamford Bridge, it would be a good time to look at other options till further notice.

Darwin Nunez (Liverpool – £7.4m) – Despite being overshadowed by a certain Norwegian striker last season, Darwin Nunez scored an impressive 100 points last year for FPL owners, scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists in his first season at Liverpool.

That being said, the Uruguayan striker’s start of the season has been less than ideal. Playing a total of 28 minutes in the first two fixtures of the season, our guess is that he might have temporarily fallen out of favor with Jurgen Klopp.

While we do hope for the best for the 24-year-old forward, it might be time to bolster your attack with other players who are regular starters for their clubs.

Harry Maguire (Manchester United – £4.4m) – If you are part of the 0.5% of Fpl Managers that own Harry Maguire as part of your back line, it’s time to sell.

The England international has not played a single minute since the start of the season, with rumors of a possible transfer to West Ham United going around, the future does look relatively uncertain for the Manchester United veteran.

Buys 

Yves Bissouma (Tottenham Hotspur – £5.0m) – Most were impressed by the Ivorian’s performance against Manchester United this past weekend and what he’s bringing to this revitalized Spurs side under Ange Postecoglou’s new management.

Tottenham face Bournemouth, Burnley and Sheffield United in the coming gameweeks which could all be high scoring fixtures for the Spurs attackers. The former Brighton player looks to be a regular in Ange’s plans going forward and at a price of £5.0m, he looks to be an exciting prospect for all FPL managers.

Yoane Wissa (Brentford – £6.1m) – Wissa has proven that he doesn’t need a full 90 minutes to make an impact in any game that he plays, the Congolese midfielder featured for only 78 minutes against Fulham in Gameweek 1 and provided a goal and an assist, also scoring a goal against Tottenham Hotspur this past weekend. Brentford Face Crystal Palace and Sheffield United in the coming weeks, with one of the highest transfers in to teams this week, FPL managers are expected big things from Brentford #11 and we are too.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal – £8.6m) – This promising young talent has been a mainstay of many FPL managers, and if you were skeptical of adding him to squad before, now is the perfect time to do so.

Arsenal will face Crystal Palace and Fulham next, and even when fixtures are hard you can trust that the England international will bring something home for you.

The youngster brought in 10 points in the opening gameweek against Nottingham Forest with a goal scored and 3 bonus points. An impressive performance against Crystal Palace in the last game of the week would almost ascertain him as a must have for all FPL managers.

Axel Disasi (Chelsea – £5.0m) – While it might be a hard sell to convince anyone to buy a Chelsea defender after the blues conceded 3 against West Ham yesterday, there is a method to our madness.

Chelsea will face Luton Town, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth for their next three fixtures. Under Pochettino’s leadership we do expect things to pick up for the London side and Disasi does look like a regular feature in his manager’s plans. Expect a few clean sheets at the least, maybe even a goal perhaps? High hopes for this one.
