Tottenham officially unveiled their new home and away strips for the next season after announcing that the American sportswear giant Nike will be their new kit manufacturers.
After their five season deal with Under Armour came to an end, the Club confirmed that they will join forces with Nike and the deal is understood to be worth around £30million-per-year and will be a “multi-year agreement”
Spurs, coincidentally, are also in the process of constructing a sumptuous new 61559 seater Stadium on the site of their former White Hart Lane stadium and till the new ground is completely built they will have to play all their home fixtures at Wembley.
Club chairman Daniel Levy had had also revealed that the new stadium will not be called White Hart Lane and that the club are actively looking for a naming rights sponsor.
Since then, every Spurs fans had been wondering as to what their new home would be called, and the club hadn’t particularly dropped any hint on the topic.
But it seems, one of their allies might have now after Sports Direct introduced the new Spurs kits with one of their banners reading “WATCH US RISE – The new 2017/18 Tottenham Hotspur FC Nike Stadium”. Check out the screenshot below –
The deal between the club and Nike is massive in terms of money, so this name change might be quite a possibility. But, fans have also speculated that the ad may just be a mistype or maybe is badly composed because the kit has two versions – Elite and Stadium, so maybe someone at Sports Direct got it all wrong.
