Needless to say, Everton fans are excited to go into the next season after the club roped in Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for a whopping £30m few days ago.
The shot-stopper has been touted one of England’s rising stars, and his spell with the Three Lions in the ongoing Euro championship with the youth side has earned him accolades. But in their recent game to Germany, his leadership skills came to the fore, caught eerily on camera.
The 24-year old is seen berating at one of his team-mates during a moment in the match, exuding great passion and authority in his tonality. Although England eventually lost 4-2 on penalties, Pickford’s leadership and maturity was one of the talking points.
The same kind of attributes at Everton is a welcome change in the goal for the Toffees as with Pickford commanding the area with such authority, the defense can now expect to become more vigilante and on their toes.
This Everton side lack a commanding figure in their ranks, but Pickford is now all set to cement that void.
