Shipping times for your custom patches

We get this question quite a bit - my order was shipped 4 days ago, and its still not here.  What is the status of my order?

The status of your order was that it was shipped.  If you have placed your order and added the flat rate shipping fee of 4.50, then there will be no Tracking Number with your order.  Why?  Because Canada Post charges way more than $4.50 for a tracking number, even for an envelope.  The cost for shipping your custom velcro patches with a tracking number is closer to $20.00, and that still takes 6-10 Business working days to get to you.

I have done a few blogs on the "business days" and how to Count them, but here is a short version.  Business days refers to the days that most businesses (not retail, of course) are open.  Most people work Monday to Friday - and those are Business Days.  Holidays do not count, because the post offices are closed.  Weekends do not count either - the mail might be moving on those days, but the postal outlets are closed, so we don't count them.  If you place your order on  Monday, you don't count this as one of the days, that is the date that you placed your order.  The shipping date is the one that counts - and we usually ship your order out in 2-3 business days - super fast!  Once you get your notice that your order has been shipped, it is usually shipped at the end of the day, so you don't count the shipping date either - it may be at the post office, but it is not going anywhere until the next day.  For example, if your order shipped on March 11,2016 (which is a Friday) you don't count Friday as day 1, that is the shipping date.  You don't count Saturday because it is a weekend, and the same goes with Sunday.  The next day is Monday - and that is day 1 of your 6-10 business days.  After that you count forward 10 business days - again, you don't include the weekends - and you will see that your estimated time of arrival for your custom velcro patches is March 25, 2016.  That is the 10th date.   Please also keep in mind that these are estimated days provided to us by the post office.  Also please keep in mind that we don't actually work for the post office, nor do we run the post office.  We are powerless when it comes to the post office and must work with what they give us - and that is 6-10 business days for your patches to arrive.

Hopefully this clears up a few things about the shipping times - its not the time that it takes us to make your patches, its the time that the post office takes to deliver your patches.  We wish we had a tracking number on every single order that we ship out, and we wish that the shipping times would be more like 4 days and cheaper, but again we don't run the post office, and apparently we can't have our way.

We have grown our business in the last 12 years based on these estimates from the post office.  It sucks.  The post office sucks.  But there it is.
