GAME DAY REPORT: GAME #48 LEAFS AT SENS

Its the Battle Of Ontario again boys and girls.

You know the one that used to have ridiculous amounts of emotion and hatred?  The one that you got on the edge of your seat for each time they met.

Well its still all good, because you know why?  I f’in HATE Ottawa.

Leafs are currently limping their way thru the dog days of the winter and the season.  While still managing to grab important points, the Leafs need to start winning a few game in regulation time and with an emphatic statement that they will not be run over in the final minutes of a contest.

Morgan Rielly is a game time decision, with what appears to be a shoulder injury that potentially migrated into a concussion.   Coach Babcock said he will wait for the Sports Science team to let him know when Rielly and Nikita Zaitsev are ready to return to the line up.  Getting Zaitsev back will not come at a moment too soon, in my opinion.

Let us assumed that Frederik “I have seen more rubber than a chicken ranch in Vegas” Andersen gets the start this evening for the beloved Blue and White in Ottawa.

Andersen has the most minutes played in the NHL the most saves in the NHL, and last time I checked it isn’t really close.

The braintrust in Toronto is going to have to figure out a plan B between the pipes if they hope to have him around and healthy for a long Playoffs run.  At the very least give him a night or two off before May.

If Morgan Rielly cannot play this evening, does it mean even more minutes for rookie Travis Dermott?  Will he step up and play with Hainsey thus allowing Andreas Borgman down from popcorn duty in the press box?

We shall find out more as the evening progresses…..lines are unknown at this time.

We need this win.  And win it we shall.

Remember the old days.
