BREAKING – Maple Leafs Trade Daniel Winnik

— Leafs PR (@LeafsPR) February 29, 2016

Connor Carrick was playing with the Hershey Bears of the AHL. He was drafted in 2012 in the 5th round(#137 Overall). Assuming he will report to the Marlies unless another fancy loan takes place. In 46 games with the Hershey Bear he has racked up a cool 10 goals and 15 assists totalling 25 points.

Brooks Laich is a 32 year veteran centre. The long time Capitol was put on waivers on Saturday, in the midst of a 47 game goal drought it is clear why he may have been waived. Thus far in 60 games played he has only accumulated 1 goal and 6 assists.

Probably the most important part of the trade was upgrading from a 5th round pick to a 2nd round pick. The Maple Leafs will still have 12 picks in 2016 draft but now have 4 picks in first 2 rounds.

More To Come…..

In the mean time, enjoy some Tricky Lou
