Low-cut, archival style has been trending big time this year in the sneaker world, with many brands remastering classic designs from their past. Now it’s PUMA’s turn.

Born on the terraces in the early ‘80s, the Palermo returns with a retro silhouette that’s rooted in matchday culture.

And to showcase the comeback of one of PUMA’s all-time greats, Man City and England midfielder, Jack Grealish, is giving us a fresh take on how to style them.

The Design Downlow

Quickly becoming a fan favourite when the terraces were a staple of British football stadiums, the Palermo’s durability made it the perfect trainer to take you home and away throughout the season.

Building upon that design, the latest edition has a leather base with stitched suede overlays on the upper for a premium look and feel, whilst adding essential protection. At the heart of the upper is the signature T-toe construction, connecting to a simple lace-up fastening for a comfy fit.

As part of the brand-new drop, the men’s collection features four completely different colourways to suit your style. Uppers land Cobalt Glaze and PUMA White, Vine and Clementine, PUMA Black and PUMA White, and PUMA White and Vapor Grey.

Beneath these colourful uppers, the Palermo had to stick to the OG with the classic gum rubber sole that offers street-ready grip.

For an extra layer of comfort, the mesh sockliner provides much-needed airflow when the game gets tense.

Finally, to sign off the look, debossed and foil-printed Puma Palermo branding hits the quarter panel tab, while the signature Cat logo is stamped at the heel window and the contrasting Formstrip runs along the sidewalls.

Cop Grealish’s Style

Known for his flare on the pitch and trend-led fashion off it, Grealish is never one to shy away from trying something new.

The innovative ‘baller has shown us a number of ways to rep the Palermo. One way is to pair them up with a wide-leg, faded denim jean as well as a tee, sweater vest, shirt and trench coat combo. The others keep it terrace-inspired with a football shirt and straight-leg chino ‘fit, while the classic track jacket elevates a plain white tee and blue jean look.
