No. 8 West Chester extends winning streak with victory over Pitt-Johnstown; Jefferson sweeps DH

Joe Kaleck Hit a three-run bomb in the second inning, and Ryan DeHaven tossed five solid innings on Sunday to lead West Chester to a 6-1 victory over Pitt-Johnstown. 


Kaleck finished with three hits in the win with three RBIs. Sean Slowinski chipped in with three hits while John DeMucci collected a pair of RBIs via a pinch-hit single in the ninth. 

David Ferguson recorded the save, tossing four Scoreless Frames while scattering three hits. He whiffed a pair. 

West Chester returns to action on Friday with a game against Saint Anselm in Cary, N.C. at the D-II Baseball Challenge at the USA Baseball Training Complex. 

In other local D-II action 
Queens College 12, Chestnut Hill 6 
Ruben Pichardo and RJ Huth collected two hits each in the loss for the Griffins. Marlon Rose pieced together a solid performance in relief, tossing three frames while surrendering one run on four hits. He whiffed five. 

Jefferson 5, Bloomsburg 3 (Game 1) 
Alex Gonzalez and Gabe Silva each collected a pair of hits in the win for the Rams. Alec Baltz recorded the win, tossing 6 1/3 innings while surrendering three runs on four hits. He struck out seven and walked just two. 

Jefferson 5, Bloomsburg 3 (Game 2) 
Jay Kalieta led the Rams at the plate with two hits and a pair of RBIs. Justin Espinal finished 2-for-3 with a two runs scored. Tyler Behm recorded the save with two scoreless frames.
