Player Spotlight: Everything You Need To Know About Phillip Anyanwu Billing


Philip Billing's excellent performance against Wolverhampton on Sunday helped take Huddersfield Town to their first away win since February 24.

And the Danish midfielder's performance, which helped lift Town from the bottom of the Premier League table, wasn't missed by the football world including Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr who is considering call him to play for Nigeria.
Under the stewardship of Amaju Pinnick, the Nigerian Federation have convinced the likes of Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong, Tyronne Ebuehi, Brian Idowu and most recently Nnamdi Ofoborh to pledge their allegiance to the three-time African champions over their countries of births.

Billing first represented Denmark at U19 level and has won four caps to date for their U21 team, but Nigeria could make a move for his services by offering him the chance to represent the country at the 2018 World Cup.

Having spent his formative years as a footballer at Jerne IF and Esbjerg in Denmark, Billing joined Huddersfield Town in the 2013-2014 season following a successful trial.

Philip Anyanwu Billing was born in Denmark on June 11, 1996.

As well as for Huddersfield Town he plays for Denmark U21s but is eligible to play for his country of birth

Billing initially signed for Esbjerg in Denmark. He joined Huddersfield Town in 2013 on a youth contract before signing a four-year professional contract in October 2013.

He made one appearance for Denmark U19 in September 2014 as a substitute during the Danes' 2-1 win over Norway.

He has made five appearances for Denmark U21 since March 2017.

The 22 year old stands at 6ft 4in making him a 'towering presence'.
