We start off from Russia, where Aaron Samuel made his long awaited debut for CSKA Moscow but it was on a bad day as they were beaten 2-0 by FK Rostov. His compatriot, Ahmed Musa was on for all 90 minutes but couldn’t stop the team from going down either.

Leon Balogun was in action for FSV Mainz as usual, and played the entire duration of the game but couldn’t help his team from being beaten 2-0 by Borussia Dortmund. Anthony Ujah was also in action for Werder Bremen but couldn’t breach the Bayern Munich defence as they were thrashed 5-0 at the Allianz Arena. He was on for the entire duration.

In the Belgian Jupiler League, Wilfried Ndidi received an 86th minute yellow card and was taken off a minute later but he had done enough to help Genk beat Oostende 4-1. Joseph Akpala, meanwhile, was an unused substitute for Oostende in the game.

Still in Belgium, Moses Simon was also in action for Gentbut couldn’t do enough to help them win as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Charleroi. He was on for 85 minutes and received a 74th minute yellow card for his troubles.

In Spain, Ikechukwu Uche lasted 65 minutes in Malaga’s 1-0 win over Sporting Gijon, but failed to find the back of the net. Isaac Success was not listed in Granada’s 6-0 thumping at the hands of Barcelona.

John Obi Mikel played the entire duration in Chelsea’s 2-0 FA Cup loss to Everton as they eliminated from the competition. While he had a steady game as usual, he couldn’t do enough to stop his team from being dumped out of the competition.

At Old Trafford, Emmanuel Emenike started for West HamUnited but fired blanks in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United. Meanwhile, Victor Moses was on the bench for the entire duration of the encounter.

Kelechi Iheanacho was introduced in the 77th minute but couldn’t help Manchester City as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Norwich City. Elsewhere, Odion Ighalo scored for Watford as they dumped Arsenal out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Elderson Echiejile was on for the entire duration in Monaco’s 2-2 draw with Reims, and was shown a yellow card in the 36th minute. Former Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama was on the winning side as Lille defeated Caen 2-1 also in Ligue 1.
