Jack Wilshere has been a total disaster signing for West Ham.
The 28-year-old joined the Hammers on a free transfer after his contract expired with Arsenal in the summer of 2018.
And he earns £100,000 per week at West Ham, according to Spotrac.
Wilshere has played just 16 games for the Hammers, and has racked up only one goal and one assist during those outings (Transfermarkt).
In six Premier League games this season, he has attempted only 10.7 passes per match, with no key passes made (Who Scored).
Injuries continue to blight the 34-capped England international's career, and it is such a shame that he hasn't been able to play more regularly for West Ham.
The east London outfit took a punt on Wilshere, and it has massively backfired. In truth, they should have paid closer attention to his injury record at Arsenal, and realised that he quite simply wasn't worth the risk.
And there is no return date in sight for the midfielder.
The Evening Standard report that Wilshere is set to undergo a hernia operation, with no expected date of return in place.
And some West Ham fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news…

The timescale for his return will depend on how many minutes the tumble drier has been programmed for. The wife says about 20 mins is fine!

I really hoped he was over his injury issues when he joined us as he played a lot for Arsenal in his final season there including man of the match against us but I now think it’s time for him to go we can’t afford to keep him any longer

Just bin him off, just a drain on an already failing club.

Just replaced Carroll with Wilshere seems we always have a resident medical bed warmer at this club
