According to a report from Sky Sports, West Ham are in talks with Benfica over the signing of midfielder Gedson Fernandes, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
The 20-year-old Portuguese starlet is one of the most exciting young prospects in Europe, and Manchester United are also reportedly interested in signing him.
Sky Sports claims that talks are underway regarding a possible 18-month loan move to the Hammers with an option to buy at the end of that period.
Sky Sports also suggest that Benfica realise that they will get nowhere near Fernandes's release clause which is set at £102 million.

And if we do get Fernandes, he would be an absolutely sensational signing.
The Portugal under-21 international possesses pace in abundance. He is also not adverse to getting involved in the physical side of the game. The 20-year-old is strong in the tackle and seems to relish getting stuck in.
Bringing him to the London Stadium would totally go against the grain of the club's recent signings.
West Ham have fallen into the trap recently of signing ageing players who are well past their best on extortionate wages.
There is still the small matter of beating Manchester United to his signature, but the links are exciting nonetheless.
