'It's inevitable': BBC pundit predicts something will happen at West Ham

Danny Murphy suggested that West Ham sacking Manuel Pellegrini is 'inevitable', when speaking during an appearance on BBC's Match of the Day last night.

The Hammers have been in woeful form recently, winning just two of their last 12 Premier League games. And they have fallen down to 17th spot in the table, just one point clear of the relegation zone.

Pellegrini is under real pressure. The Chilean looks lost and totally devoid of ideas.

Now is surely the time to move the 66-year-old on. But the West Ham board will be reluctant to sack Pellegrini with 18 months still remaining on his contract.

Murphy suggested that the Chilean's exit from the London Stadium is inevitable, however, when speaking on the BBC's Match of the Day programme last night:

“They’re in disarray to be honest. I think they’ll be a change. I think it’s inevitable. The fans are frustrated, he’s had a lot of money. And their position is perilous.”

West Ham face Leicester City at home tomorrow, before playing host to Bournemouth on New Year's Day.

And if they fail to win either of those games, it is hard to envisage a scenario where Pellegrini will remain in charge at the London Stadium.

In truth, he should have been sacked a long time ago. And it now just seems to be a case of the Hammers board delaying, as Murphy suggested, the 'inevitable'.
