Mark Lawrenson predicts West Ham vs Palace; singles out 29-year-old as danger man

West Ham take on Crystal Palace at the London Stadium on Saturday, and Mark Lawrenson has backed to the Hammers to take all three points, singling out Andriy Yarmolenko as the danger man for the home side.

The east London outfit have made a fine start to their Premier League campaign, and they currently sit in fifth spot in the table, having taken 12 points from their opening seven outings.

Palace will be no pushovers, however, and it should be a really entertaining game of football on display at the London Stadium this weekend.

One of West Ham's best players this season has been Andriy Yarmolenko.

The Ukrainian returned to action in fine fettle at the start of the season, having been out since October last year.

And if West Ham are to crack the top six this season, they will need Yarmolenko to maintain his impressive form between now and May.

Lawrenson backed the Hammers to beat Palace on Saturday, when writing his regular column for BBC Sport, sharing how impressed he has been with the 29-year-old Ukrainian attacker:

Both of these teams are going well and West Ham, in particular, have impressed me. They seem to have added a bit of steel at the back compared to last season and Andriy Yarmolenko has shown how good he is since returning from his long-term injury. The Hammers have more to offer in attack than Palace do, which is why I think they will get the win here. I just can't really see the Eagles causing them too much trouble.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

West Ham could jump inside the top four with a win on Saturday. And three points against the Eagles would be the ideal way for the Hammers to head into the two-week international break.
