Manchester United have reportedly joined Liverpool and Leicester in the race to sign Swedish youngster Alexander Isak.
And his goalscoring prowess and likeness to Sweden icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic has attracted the interest of Liverpool, who have apparently been tracking the 6ft 3in striker.
Jose Mourinho’s lack of proven success with young players means that Jurgen Klopp will have hope of landing Isak, but United could look to use the presence of Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford to help tip the balance in their favour.
And AIK team-mate Chinedu Obasi admitted last month that he has no doubts about Isak fulfilling his potential and signing for a huge club – branding him the next Ibrahimovic.
“If he concentrates and continues as he is, I think he can become Sweden’s next Ibrahimovic.
“He has the potential, everyone can see it.”
