Detroit Lions vs. Las Vegas Raiders: A Way Too Early Prediction

Look, it was U-G-L-Y yesterday. So, we're not going to rehash it. But the Detroit Lions vs. Las Vegas Raiders Monday Night Football matchup should have the blood boiling for Lions' fans. Ford Field is going to be rocking and looking for a rebound for the hometown team. Expect the boys in Honolulu Blue know the egg they left in Baltimore and respond accodingly.

The Detroit Lions vs. Las Vegas Raiders MNF Game will be hype

If there's one thing that is a “for sure” when it comes to Monday night, the best fans in the NFL are going to be there and be LOUD. And, be sure that the Lions are going to be ready to play. From the middle of last season, after the horrid 1-6 start, the Lions have done a masterful job of bouncing back from losses and playing well. After their loss to the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving, then rattled off three straight wins. Then after their brutal loss on Christmas Eve to the Panthers, they won their final two games, including that massive win in Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football and making Aaron Rodgers quit the Packers. They've continued that by ripping off four straight wins after their OT loss to the Seattle Seahawks earlier this season.

There's no reason to expect that the Lions won't rebound after Sunday this Monday night. The Raiders are a team struggling, but do have Jimmy Garoppolo potentially returning from injury this week. Hopefully, the seconary will tighten up and fix what was broken this past week. With the extra day to rest up, hopefully the injury report won't look as bad either.

There should really be no reason the Lions lose this game. The game with the Ravens was always in question, but not really this one. The Raiders are struggling and looking to potentially trade some of their stars. So here's the bold prediction for this week: the Lions will win this game by double digits and Maxx Crosby won't be getting on a plane to head back to Vegas, but joining his new teammates in their bye week as he prepares to help the Lions pass rush because Brad Holmes is slick and made a deal for him.

The bottom line

The Lions desperately need a rebound game and the recipe for success is primed for the picking. They host a team struggling, in front of a crazy hometown crowd, and on Monday Night Football. Their record of rebounding is pretty good dating back to last season and Lions fans should expect to celebrate a Victory Tuesday and enjoy their teams moving to 6-2 on the season.
