Just two days after giving both Casey McGehee and Bobby Parnell each their unconditional release, both have been brought back to the Tigers organization on minor league contracts.

Additionally, the #Tigers have signed righthanded pitcher Bobby Parnell to a minor league contract.

Since both Parnell and McGehee had been brought in on minor league deals in the off-season, and both have more than six years of MLB service, the Tigers had to either commit them to the main roster and pay them each $100,000, or release them.
Both were released and immediately brought back, making it clear that this was the team's plan all along.
McGehee has a .316 average in 38 at-bats this spring with Detroit, with a home run and six RBI's.
Parnell has an ERA of 8.68 in 9 1/3 innings this spring, but has only allowed one hit and one walk in his last two appearances.
Both will start the season with the Toledo Mud Hens.
