The Detroit Red Wings may once again be without the services of defenseman Niklas Kronwall for an extended time.
He suffered a lower body injury in the 2nd period of Detroit's 3-2 overtime victory over the New York Rangers on Saturday afternoon and did not return to the game. Afterwards, he said he didn't feel that the injury was significant. However, Damien Cox of Sportsnet tweeted the following:
DET D Niklas Kronwall had an MRI on his knee today, believed its a knee sprain. Hope is he'll be back before the end of the regular season.

In Kronwall's absence, the Red Wings are expected to recall Xavier Ouellete from the Grand Rapids Griffins. They host the Toronto Maple Leafs Sunday at 7:00 ET.
