What to Watch For:

The Detroit Tigers ace, Justin Verlander, is seeking his 21st start in a row of giving up 3 or less earned runs. Sound familiar? That’s because just last night Daniel Norris accomplished the exact same thing. Verlander has been lights out for the start of the season and after a disastrous performance by the bullpen, the Tigers really need him to chew up some innings.

The Tigers also have homered in 10 straight games to start a season. That ties them with the San Francisco Giants for most home runs to start a season, it will be interesting, and quite impressive, if they can make that number 11.

Lastly, on this day back in 1947, Jackie Robinson, broke the color barrier in baseball. Every player around the league on this day will wear the number 42 in his honor. A special day around baseball, started in 2004, honoring a man who was courageous, talented, and heroic. A true inspiration for each and every fan of our great game.

Looking Back:

The Tigers last night jumped out to a 4-0 lead against the Indians on a Miguel Cabrera opposite field home run. In the sixth inning, Alex Avila went deep driving in two more runs, seemingly putting the game out of reach. However, the bullpen was summoned and the lead was nearly given away. Yet, the Tigers were able to escape with a 7-6 victory, putting them at 7-3 through the first 10 games, and in first place in the division.
