Michigan’s Jourdan Lewis comments on playing for Detroit Lions

Jourdan Lewis had a decorated career as a cornerback at the University of Michigan, earning First-Team All-Big Ten and First-Team All-American selections in his final two seasons with the Wolverines. In fact, most would agree Lewis is one of the top cover cornerbacks in the nation and should be in line for nice NFL career if he is selected by the right team.

On Tuesday, Lewis was asked by Justin Rogers of the Detroit News about playing for the Detroit Lions and his response is music to the ears of Lions fans.

Ok, we get it. Lewis did not go out of his way to say that he WANTS to play for the Lions, but his response does not suggest he is against staying close to home either. Prior to playing for Michigan, Lewis attended Cass Tech High School in Detroit, so being drafted by the Lions would make sure he stays in the Motor City, at least to begin his NFL career.

The big question is, where will Lewis be drafted? In terms of coverage abilities, he is a 1st round talent, but many scouts seem to be concerned about his lack of size. On Tuesday, prior to his first Senior Bowl practice, Lewis had his measurements taken and he was very happy with the results.

What do you think, Lions Nation? Would you like to see Jourdan Lewis and Darius Slay in the same secondary?
