Premier League Final Day TV Coverage 2011 / 2012

After nearly 9 months of twists, turns, shocks and suprises, the 2011 / 2012 Premier League season draws to an end on Sunday.

Only 2 games will be shown on the final day with Sky Sports opting to show the “champions elect” Man City at home to relegation threatened QPR and Man Utd’s away trip to Sunderland.

This means that the race for the Champions League spots will not be covered live and neither will Bolton’s vital trip to Stoke where the Trotters must win to have any chance of Premier League survival.

ESPN used up their allocation of 23 live games after showing Norwich v Liverpool 2 weeks ago, which seems a ridiculous decision considering there is so much to play for on the final day of the season. Sky could have easily held back another game for the final day of the season, however there is always the risk of being left with a dead-rubber.

I believe it is now the right time for the Premier League to allow all games played on the last day of the season to be shown live.
