SPL Power Rankings, Week 11: Tears Of Happiness In The Qadasiyah And Fateh Camp!!

1 No Nasser Al Shamrani, no problem. Everything Al Hilal did ran through Leo Bonatini and Nawaf Al Abed, and the ones behind them were skillful and creative enough to pose all kinds of problems against a good Al Shabab team. LAST WEEK: 1 HIGH: 1 | LOW: 5 Latest result: Won against Al Shabab 3-0 Next SPL match: Home against Al Wehda (8/12) 2 Not a convincing effort despite the 4 – 0 thrashing of Al Batin. But efforts of GK Hussain Shaian did not go unnoticed and hopefully soon, he gets a NT start. LAST WEEK: 2 HIGH: 1 | LOW: 7 Latest result: Won against Al Batin 4-0 Next SPL match: Away at Al Shabab (9/12) 3 Grit and grind and Fahad with a stunner. The usual self for Ittihad. هدف #الاتحاد الثاني ضد #الاتفاق (فهد المولد) في الجولة 11 من #دوري_جميل #دوري_بلس@ittihad pic.twitter.com/s5Mrr6zE9G — dawriplus دوري بلس (@dawriplusksa) December 2, 2016 LAST WEEK: 3 HIGH: 1 | LOW: 3 Latest result: Won against Al Ettifaq 4-1 Next SPL match: Away at Al Faisaly (10/12) 4 When Al Ahli rains, Al Ahli pours. In what was one of the highest scoring games till date this season. And of course, what’s an Al Ahli score-sheet if Omar Al Somah is not in it? Few golazo’s recorded in this 6 – 3 drubbing of Al Faisaly. Firstly this from Al Fatil: هدف #الأهلي الثاني ضد #الفيصلي (محمد آل فتيل) في الجولة 11 من #دوري_جميل #دوري_بلس@ALAHLI_FC pic.twitter.com/saL9BKQr8e — dawriplus دوري بلس (@dawriplusksa) December 1, 2016 And this stunner from Taiseer هدف #الأهلي السادس ضد #الفيصلي (تيسير الجاسم) في الجولة 11 من #دوري_جميل #دوري_بلس@ALAHLI_FC pic.twitter.com/clynVQnUTG — dawriplus دوري بلس (@dawriplusksa) December 1, 2016 LAST WEEK: 5 HIGH: 1 | LOW: 6 Latest result: Won at Al Faisaly 6-3 Next SPL match: Home against Al Raed (9/12) 5 Definitely a work in progress for Schattorie’s man but in way better shape for a team that was promoted this season. Looking on the brighter side. LAST WEEK: 4 HIGH: 1 | LOW: 14 Latest result: Lost at Al Ittihad 1-4 Next SPL match: Home against Al Qadasiyah (9/12) 6 There was almost nothing pretty about this win except for the 1-0 scoreline. The fact that they got 3 points on the road against a rival of a sort, though, makes that scoreline absolutely beautiful. LAST WEEK: 7 HIGH: 9 | LOW: 12 Latest result: Won at Al Khaleej 1-0 Next SPL match: Away at Al Batin (8/12) 7 Must have been a tough loss to swallow for Sami Al Jaber. Just couldn’t find an answer to what Al Hilal had to offer up front. Good news is that there is room for improvement unlike a few others in the league. LAST WEEK: 6 HIGH: 5 | LOW: 11 Latest result: Lost at Al Hilal 0-3 Next SPL match: Home against Al Nassr (9/12) 8 Tears of joy 😭 😭 as the club gets its first win of the season. The third goal on the counter was anything less than perfect. Deserve the jump – yes its a big jump but lets cut them some slack on this one. LAST WEEK: 14 HIGH: 8 | LOW: 13 Latest result: Won against Al Raed 3-0 Next SPL match: Away at Al Ettifaq (9/12) 9 Why should Al Fateh be left out of winning a game when Al Qadasiyah managed to win their first last night? So they battled on like gladiators. Could have increased the score-line by 7 or 8 but lets not get ourselves ahead. Deserve the jump just like Al Qadasiyah. LAST WEEK: 12 HIGH: 9 | LOW: 14 Latest result: Won against Al Wehda 4-2 Next SPL match: Home against Al Khaleej (10/12) 10 Fought valiantly to get the equaliser and the subsequent lead. It was all for them to take but lack of discipline in defence cost them the three points. LAST WEEK: 9 HIGH: 6 | LOW: 11 Latest result: Lost at Al Fateh 2-4 Next SPL match: Away at Al Hilal (8/12) 11 Just another off day for Al Khaleej. While currently sitting at the bottom of the official table, a win in the next game could take them to safety. The positive side of the SPL. LAST WEEK: 8 HIGH: 10 | LOW: 13 Latest result: Lost at Al Taawon 0-1 Next SPL match: Away at Al Fateh (10/12) 12 The team overcommitted on tackles after conceding the first goal – sort of out of embarrassment – in pursuit of and equalizer and a hopeful game-winner. Buttttt, they got burned. LAST WEEK: 10 HIGH: 5 | LOW: 12 Latest result: Lost at Al Qadasiyah 0-3 Next SPL match: Away at Al Ahli (9/12) 13 Just have to admit that Al Ahli were the better team. If you ignore the number of goals scored, the maroons literally lost by 3 goals which does not look bad on paper. But the manner in which they were conceded is alarming. On the bright side, Al Faisaly had a few goal of the season contenders tonight. Firstly, this from Luisinho: هدف #الفيصلي الثاني ضد #الأهلي (لويز غوستافو) في الجولة 11 من #دوري_جميل #دوري_بلس@AlFaisaly pic.twitter.com/eeoRCAu8MV — dawriplus دوري بلس (@dawriplusksa) December 1, 2016 And then this from Everaldo Stum هدف الفيصلي الثالث في مرمى الاهلي عن طريق “ستوم” د88#الفيصلي_الاهلي #برو_سبورت pic.twitter.com/P409OitR4Q — MBC PRO SPORTS (@MBCProSports) December 1, 2016 LAST WEEK: 11 HIGH: 3 | LOW: 13 Latest result: Lost against Al Ahli 3-6 Next SPL match: Home against Al Ittihad (10/12) 14 Just like against Al Wehda, this game should have produced a lot of tape on what not to do in defense. LAST WEEK: 13 HIGH: 7 | LOW: 14 Latest result: Lost at Al Nassr 0-4 Next SPL match: Home against Al Taawon (8/12)
