Healthy Snacks – Popcorn Don’t forget to bring a healthy snack to Cheer and Dance practice and games. One of our favorites is the old standby – popcorn. By itself, popcorn is an excellent source of fiber and antioxidants. If plain popcorn seems a little bland, try experimenting with different oils and seasonings rather than adding unneeded calories with butter or unhealthy amounts of salt. Adding low fat grated cheese or spicy seasonings makes an easy and tasteful snack. Even a sprinkling of pepper adds extra flavor. If you need more energy, mix your popcorn with nuts and dried fruits. Use your imagination and try all your favorites. Popcorn is easy to fix, easy to take with you, and always fun to share with friends. Have a popcorn party with your teammates with a large bowl of plain popcorn with a variety of ingredients and spices so that each can mix her own favorite snack.in individual containers. Suggestions include taco seasoning, pepper, Italian seasoning, curry, nuts, sunflower seeds, raisins, dried apricots, cranberries, cherries and blueberries, and various grated cheeses. The possibilities with popcorn are endless and fun. Make it part of your total Cheer and Dance experience.
