The record making 9-time champion is finding it quite easy to play in the tournament. Speaking of the most recent match played in the grand slam; Nadal took only 90 minutes to see off Nikoloz Basilashvili, the Georgian player and confirmed his place in the 4th round of the tournament. Rafa played brilliantly producing excellent display to defeat Basilashvili 6-0 6-1 6-0. This became the most one sided win of Nadal in the history of his French Open Career. The player is bidding to win the grand slam title for the 10th time and hence creating history in the world of tennis. It is indeed going to be very interesting to see whether Nadal makes it or not.

The Defending Champion Struggles but Makes it Through

While Nadal is in full form, the defending champion Novak Djokovic seems to be struggling in the tournament. It was in fact a rollercoaster ride for Djokovic playing opposite the Argentinean player Diego Schwartzman. It took 5-7 6-3 3-6 6-1 6-1 for Djokovic to defeat Schwartzman. However, the player advanced to the next round of Roland-Garros. With this victory, the Serbian second seed marked his 58th match-win at the Clay Court. Eyes are set on Djokovic’s next performance in the grand slam tournament.
