FARGO—There will be a familiar face in the sky when the Blue Angels come to town next summer. Eric Doyle has been named flight leader for the Blue Angels upcoming show season, which includes a stop in Fargo. Doyle is the son of Lakota native Eugene Doyle, who was a decorated F-4 Fighter pilot in the Vietnam War. Eric will fly the Number One slot in the Blue Angels show formation. There will be a ceremony in Pensacola, Florida next month, to officially hand over the commander duties to Doyle. North Dakota native Gil Rud of Mayville-Portland was Blue Angel commander in 1986.
