The I-90 bridge faces closures during Blue Angels practices and shows

The Blue Angels are back and that means flyovers, rattling windows and closures on the Interstate 90 bridge. The Interstate 90 bridge will be closed for periods of time starting today for the Seattle Air Show, as the Blue Angles practice and perform. The Federal Aviation Administration requires the Washington State Department of Transportation to close the Interstate 90 floating bridge to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians while the Blue Angels practice for and perform at the Seafair Air Show. The closures are to keep the public and pilots safe and to minimize distractions. Here are the closure times: Thursday, Aug. 3: 9:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.; 1- 2:40 p.m. (practices) Friday, Aug. 4: 12:55 – 2:40 p.m. (Seafair Air Show) Saturday, Aug. 5: 12:55 – 2:40 p.m. (Seafair Air Show) Sunday, Aug. 6: 12:55 – 2:40 p.m. (Seafair Air Show) Pedestrians and cyclists will still have access to the bridge during the closures. But no one on foot or bike can travel beyond the highrises up to 30 minutes prior to posted closure times. The Blue Angels are part of the annual Seafair celebration.
