PENSACOLA, FL (AP) – The blues are well known across the country and this weekend they’re home, in Pensacola. Known for their roaring engines, speed, precision and aerobatic maneuvers, hundreds of thousands of people are Lt. Tyler Davies, opposing solo. U.S.N. expected to line Pensacola Beach tomorrow and Saturday. “I can’t explain how excited I am to get up there,” Lieutenant Tyler Davies said. After being a narrator for a year, first-time opposing solo pilot Lt. Davies will be behind the stick of Blue Angel number six. “I joined the navy right out of high school. I did about eight years enlisted, did my degree after work every day with the hopes of maybe one day getting a chance to fly a blue jet,” Lt. Davies said. Lt. Davies says after such intense training, living out his wildest dream is still a shock. He says flying in the Pensacola Beach Airshow in particular is an honor. “The motivation is out there, the flags are out there, the people are out there, there’s stuff all over the buildings. I mean it’s such a pump of Pensacola to be like, ‘we cannot wait for the Pensacola beach show’, because our guys are flying,” [...]
