(BRUNSWICK) WGME—It is official, The United States Navy’s flight demonstration team, the Blue Angels, is returning to Maine. Today, two of the angels flew into Brunswick to meet and talk with air show organizers about the show in August. They arrived in Blue Angel #7, a F/A-18 Hornet, which is the signature fighter jet of the Blue Angels. The show will be held August 26th-27th, 2017. “We have a great team this year. We got a lot of new pilots, two new pilots in the diamond and they’re at home practicing right now. They’re getting ready for all the shows we have this summer,” says Blue Angel #7 LT Brandon Hempler, United States Navy. Tens of thousands of spectators, attend the shows to see the Blue Angels, other world class performers, vintage aircraft and dozens of static displays. August’s show will be the only Blue Angel’s New England appearance in 2017.
