  • Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched 6 Singaporean satellites from Sriharikota’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre and successfully put them into orbit. It was the 50th successful big rocket launch and 32nd PSLV flight. 6 satellites were launched less than a minute apart while maintaining a distance of 20 kms from one another.

  • A.S.Kiran Kumar, Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has said that ISRO will launch a US NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite in the year 2021 by using GSLV-Mk II rocket, as part of the on-going cooperation between NASA and ISRO.
  • Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) commercial arm, Antrix Corporation, has entered into an agreement to launch 9 American nano/micro satellites and put them into orbit by 2016-end. Reports say that micro satellites weigh between 10 kgs to 100 kgs and nano satellites weigh anywhere from 1 kg to 10 kgs. An ISRO official said that an Astrosat satellite is all set to be launched in September with the help of PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) rocket.

  • Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully tested an indigenous cryogenic engine, which is capable of putting up to four tones of satellites in geostationary orbit. The test was carried out at Mahendragiri’s Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre in Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli district. Sources in Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre say that testing took place at 4.30pm and it went on for 635 seconds.

  • ISRO put off the launch of the geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle as there was fuel leakage in the second-stage engine. The process of the rocket launch was going on smoothly and 2 hours prior to the launch the leak was observed. It was stated that there will be draining of the liquid fuel in the 2nd stage, the cryogenic engine and the 4 strap-on motors of the first stage.
