Is June Mar Fajardo Really Injured?

June Mar Fajardo, the newly-crowned Most Valuable Player of the Philippine Basketball Association Season 40, has indicated that he might skip the invitation to rejoin Gilas owing to plantar fasciitis injuries on both feet. But many Philippine basketball fans cannot help but ask: Is June Mar Fajardo really injured?

Benefit of the Doubt: Injury Could Be True

June Mar Fajardo has had little time to rest since he started training with Gilas in 2013. Although he did not really play major minutes for Gilas in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championships or the 2014 FIBA World Cup of Basketball, he plays almost the entire game every time the San Miguel Beermen play in the PBA. Add to that, attending two practices(one for Gilas and one for SMB) also contributes to fatigue and stress. June Mar is not a little guy too, and the pressure that his gigantic body puts on his legs and feet may also be a contributing factor.

Reason To Doubt: PBA Governors' Cup Performance

Fans are perplexed as to how June Mar Fajardo could play through pain and still emerge as the Finals MVP of the recently concluded PBA Governors' Cup won by the San Miguel Beermen. Either one of the following statements could be true: June Mar Fajardo is faking the injury or imagine how much more dominant Fajardo can become without the injury.

Pardon us, the Filipino basketball fans are just asking!
