Deflategate Appeal Upheld by Federal Court, Brady Must Serve Four-Game Ban

The story you thought you were done hearing about is back in the news, and we’re sorry to contribute to it.

A federal appeals Court ruled on Monday morning that Tom Brady must serve his four-game suspension as originally handed down by the National Football League. The ruling, stemming from accusations of deflating game balls prior to the 2014 AFC Championship game, overturned a judge in the lower courts that had previously vacated the star’s suspension.

Brady will be forced to sit out New England’s first four games of the 2016 season, the season opener on the road against the Arizona Cardinals, and home games against the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, and Buffalo Bills. He will be eligible to return in Week 5 against the poor Cleveland Browns (bless their hearts). Jimmy Garoppolo is currently the only other quarterback on the New England roster, and, barring some sort of free agent signing or trade, will be under center for the team’s first four games.

Tickets to all Patriots preseason and regular season games are now available HERE.
