Celtics Prepare for Regular Season Finale With Playoff Seeding Still Undetermined

The Boston Celtics’ first round opponent in the NBA playoffs is still up in the air, as is whether the TD Garden will be the site of game one. In their Season Finale on Wednesday night against the Miami Heat, the C’s will need a win and some help to move up into the fourth seed.

The Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat are currently tied in the Southeast Division standings, with Miami currently holding the tiebreaker between the teams. A win by the Heat tonight over the Celtics guarantees them the the three-seed, but a loss leave their fate contingent on the Hawks game. Atlanta, but not Miami, holds the tiebreaker between themselves and the Celtics, so a Celtics win and an Atlanta win but make the Heat fall to fifth, while the Celtics would move into fourth. With a loss, the Celtics could also fall to as low as sixth, but only if the Charlotte Hornets pick up a win over the Orlando Magic.

The Celtics have fared well so far this season against the Heat, winning each of the teams’ first two meetings. On November 30, the Celtics downed the Heat 105-95 on the road, and on February 27, the Celtics came from behind to top Miami 101-89 at TD Garden.

Tickets to Wednesday night’s Celtics Regular Season Finale against the Miami Heat, with tip-off scheduled for 8 p.m., are available HERE, and tickets to Celtics playoff games are available HERE.
