Jazz Come to Boston Feeling the Blues

The Boston Celtics welcome the Utah Jazz to the TD Garden on Monday night and will be looking to capitalize on a team that is trending in the wrong direction. Utah, currently a half game back of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference standings, saw a seven-game winning streak snapped on February 10, and have dropped five of their last seven games since.

Of their two wins in the seven-game stretch, however, one of them was over the Celtics on February 19, a 111-93 victory for the Jazz on their home court. In the loss, the Celtics had one of their worst shooting games of the season, making just 37 percent of their shots from the field. Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas led all scorers with 25 points on the night.

The Jazz roster features seven players averaging double-digit points per game on the season, led by forward Gordon Hayward, who averages 20.0 points per game. Starting center Rudy Gobert averages a double-double per game with 10.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. The 23-year-old Frenchman is coming off one of his biggest games of the season, in which he picked up 12 points, a season-high 19 rebounds, and 6 blocks in Utah’s 98-96 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.

Tickets to see the Celtics and Jazz square off on Monday evening at the TD Garden are available HERE.
