Heart, Joan Jett, Cheap Trick Come Together for US Tour with Xfinity Center Stop

Legendary rockers Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Cheap Trick will all be going on tour together this summer, and, yes, a Boston-area stop is on the docket. Dubbed the “Rock Hall Three for All,” the trio will perform at Mansfield’s Xfinity Center on Sunday, July 24.

Each of the three headlining bands have recently received the highest honor in rock and roll, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, hence the tour’s name. Heart was the first of the three to be inducted in 2013, followed by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in 2015. Cheap Trick will be inducted in April of this year, when they enter alongside Deep Purple, N.W.A., Steve Miller, and Chicago.

Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson are Heart’s founding members, and the pair is universally considered to be one of the top female rock and roll bands of all-time, as well as influential barrier-breakers for women in the rock and roll scene. It has been reported that the band’s 16th studio album is currently in the works and could be released some time in 2016. The band is best known for its top hits “Magic Man,” “Barracuda,” “Alone,” and “Crazy On You,” among others.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts reached their peak success in 1981 when they released the album “I Love Rock ‘n Roll,” featuring the band’s all-time top hit by the same name. The band’s other top hits include “Bad Reputation,” “I Hate Myself for Loving You,” and “Cherry Bomb.” Joan Jett and the Blackhearts last released an album in 2013, when they released their 13th studio album, “Unvarnished.”

A worthy 2016 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cheap Trick is famous for its near constant touring for the last four decades that has seen them play upwards of 5,000 shows. The band’s success has spanned the entire world, and in the 1980s, when the band first traveled to Japan, they were greeted in ways that some say are reminiscent of the way the Beatles were welcomed to the United States. Cheap Trick has had a number of hits, including “Surrender,” “I Want You to Want Me,” “Dream Police,” and “The Flame.” The band will release its 17th studio album (and first since 2009), “Bang Zoom Crazy…Hello,” in April, coinciding with its Hall of Fame induction.

Tickets to Rock Hall Three for All concert, featuring Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Cheap Trick, at Mansfield’s Xfinity Center are still available here.
