Mourinho Switching Man United’s Focus On Europa League

Manchester United may still be sitting fifth in current English Premier League standings, but their weekend defeat over Arsenal apparently triggered Red Devils’ manager, Jose Mourinho, to focus on another prize.

Knowing that their 2-0 defeat over The Gunners now put United four points a drift from that top four seat, Mourinho claimed that now it’s time for his side to set their utmost focus in winning Europa League.

Aside from providing with another potential trophy this season, following their recent League Cup glory, snatching Europa League will also give Man United that massive Champions League ticket should they win it.

Having that UCL target in mind, Mourinho believes that pushing for Europa League makes more sense for United instead of putting all of their effort in the league.

However, the Portuguese tactician doesn’t mean that his side won’t be playing for three points on their remaining league fixture, it’s simply just not their ultimate goal for now.

Moreover, the former Chelsea boss also added that it’s much more easier for Man United’s rivals to give their all in remaining games as those sides will only play one games a week.

Taking that schedule as an account, Mourinho simply think that his team’s best chance in getting into Champions League football next summer.
