The Blues parted ways with Jose Mourinho in December, and while interim coach Guus Hiddink has held the fort since then, the reigning champions are understood to be keen on bringing in Conte this summer.
The 46-year-old, who won the Champions League during his distinguished Playing Career with Juventus, is currently the head coach of the Italy national team, but will leave his post after this summer’s European Championships tournament.
According to the tabloid, Conte is in London to finalise the details of his contract, and could sign a deal as soon as Monday.
As well as the UCL, Conte won five Serie A titles, the Italian Cup and the Uefa Cup during his playing career. He was twice a runner up in a major tournament with the Azzurri—falling short at both the 1994 World Cup and Euro 2000.
