Monday Night Therapy: Should Nebraska Claim 1915 As A National Title?

Last week, Iowa lost the National title in the women’s basketball game to South Carolina.

At that time, I had tweeted out toward the end of the game, “Iowa will not win another national title,” and it started a bit of an argument on Twitter with some Iowa fans who I had trolled, and who started talking about their National Titles and how they have more, because Iowa has 24 national titles in wrestling.

That’s a lot of titles, but it’s the only sport they’d ever won a national title in.

One of the responses was that Iowa has five national titles in football, to which I went, “What the hell is that about?” Because they don’t have five national titles in football. They claim five national titles in football.

At the same time, one of the other accounts on Twitter tweeted out a list of national titles held by people in football, and of course, Alabama claims 18 national titles and Michigan claims 11.

Nebraska has won five national titles. Could we claim more?

Particularly the 1915 national title.

We could, and that’s the subject of tonight’s show.
